CEO & President, AP4 Group.
Randy Willis joined the AP4 Group in 2024 as CEO and President. Mr. Willis has demonstrated experience in
building enterprise value companies in the energy sector across renewables, power generation, oil & gas
industries, and industrial industries over the last 35 years. His fundamental strategy is developing and delivering
products and services that create value for his customers, focusing on what is most important to them and the
assets they own. He is a people leader and celebrates his success through the successes of his teams.
Before joining AP4 Group, Mr. Willis enjoyed over 25 years of experience in leading companies for various public
and private equity owned companies.
 
Most recently, Mr. Willis worked as a board director and advisor to multiple companies, including the AP4
Group. He has worked as a consultant and interim leader within his consulting engagements and has had the
opportunity to co-create value for the companies he has supported and the customers they served. He was also
the Chief Commercial Officer for Volt Power, a construction services company in the transmission and distribution
space.
 
Previously, Mr. Willis served as Chairman and CEO at Granite Services International, Inc. where his teams were
responsible for installing, commissioning, and maintaining power generation, oil and gas renewables equipment,
and providing field engineering, technician, and craft labor services with global coverage on 6 continents and in
106 countries with over 10,000 employees.
 
Prior to that, Mr. Willis spent 25 years with GE Power, now GE Vernova. Mr. Willis started his professional career
with GE as a field engineer, project manager and progressed through various regional and global executive
leadership roles providing parts, repairs, installation, and maintenance services as well as conversions,
modifications, and upgrades.
 
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering from the California Polytechnic State

University in San Luis Obispo, CA.

Austin David
Chief Financial Officer & Board Director, AP4 Group.

Austin David joined AP4 Group in 2021 as Chief Financial Officer.

 

Mr. David is an operating executive with meaningful, high-impact private equity experience and a consistent track record of value creation. Before joining AP4 Group in 2021, Mr. David was CFO and Board Director of Allied Power Group (“APG”), a premier independent power generation repair & services provider. Before APG, Mr. David was Vice President with Turnbridge Capital Partners, a middle-market sector-focused private equity investment firm. 

While at Turnbridge, Mr. David served on several Boards and in several interim executive roles while originating and executing new platform and add-on acquisition investments. Before attending business school full-time, Mr. David served in finance & accounting roles at MarkWest Energy Partners and KPMG.

 

Mr. David’s educational background is a testament to his commitment to excellence. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Management from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University, a renowned institution for business education. 

He also obtained a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the Tippie College of Business at The University of Iowa, further solidifying his expertise in the field. 

Austin David joined AP4 Group in 2021 as Chief Financial Officer.

Shawn Moore
Chief Operating Officer, AP4 Group.

Shawn M. Moore joined AP4 Group Services as Executive Vice President in August 2023.

 

Mr. Moore’s 25 years of experience in the energy and utility industries, coupled with his strategic leadership, are invaluable assets to AP4 Group Services. His role is to increase value for our people, customers, and shareholders by delivering versatile, safe, and reliable power solutions that meet our customer needs and expectations. This emphasis on strategic leadership reassures our audience about the future direction of our company.


Before joining AP4 Group, Shawn spent 20 years with General Electric in the Power Generation Services business, where he held a variety of technical, commercial, operational, and P&L leadership roles. His diverse experience, including being the Director of Operations for Fieldcore, part of GE Vernova, where he was a key stakeholder in the startup of a new Field Services organization in North America, instills confidence in his ability to handle various aspects of our business.

 

Most recently, he was the President of a private equity organization in the utility infrastructure market, where he led a team of 250 union and non-union service employees across the United States. Shawn is a proven leader focused on strong customer relationships and bringing dedication and commitment to an organization built on a foundation of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Mr. Moore is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.

John Downing
Executive Vice President, AP4 Group.

After the company was acquired, Mr. Downing joined AP4 Group in 2020 as Executive Vice President of TC&E.

 

Previously, Mr. Downing co-founded Turbine Controls & Excitation Group Inc. (TC&E) in 2009, where he served as President and CEO. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, John is recognized as a subject matter expert in gas and steam turbine operations, digital controls, DLN Combustion systems, excitation, network OT and IT systems, and data encryption technology.
Before his tenure at TC&E, Mr. Downing honed his technical expertise and gained hands-on experience with General Electric. As a gas and steam turbine installation, commissioning, and startup engineer, he was involved in over 20 turbine plant startups.

 

In 2018, he co-founded Encrypted Grid LLC, a company that provides KLOCH encryption technology to the bulk electric system. His career began in the US Navy, where he maintained and operated shipboard power generation and propulsion systems for eight years. He has since been involved in projects and services at hundreds of power plants across five continents, ensuring reliable and secure power for millions of customers. Mr. Downing’s career is marked by his service in the United States Navy, a testament to his discipline and dedication. His distinguished career spans decades in the power generation industry, where he has made significant contributions.

Mr. Downing joined AP4 Group in 2020 as Executive Vice President of TC&E after the company was acquired.

Pam Ringquist
Director of People Operations, AP4 Group.

Pam Ringquist joined AP4 Group as Director of People Operations in May 2023.

 

Mrs. Ringquist has over 20 years of experience in people operations. She is a seasoned people operations leader focused on developing innovative, business-oriented solutions that support growth and bridge the gap between employees and management, fostering a harmonious work environment.

 

Pam has expertise in various industries, including legal, insurance, and financial services. Previously, Pam worked as the Director of Human Resources at the law firm of Williams Parker in Sarasota, FL. After leaving Williams Parker, she transitioned to the insurance industry as Vice President of Human Resources at Gulfstream Property & Casualty and Seibels.

 

Mrs. Ringquist’s qualifications, including a Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois State University and the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation, are directly relevant to her role as Director of People Operations at AP4 Group. Her commitment to continuing education in her field demonstrates her dedication to staying abreast of the latest industry trends and best practices, ensuring that she is well-equipped to lead our people operations team.

Vice President of Sales, Americas.

Renee Solofra joined AP4 Group in October 2023 as Vice President of Sales, Americas.

Her experience brings advisory leadership promoting a growth focused go to market strategy while fostering M and A offerings integration. Previously, Renee worked at BNSF Logistics, where she specialized in driving results. Her reputation for strategic planning and execution and exceptional interpersonal skills has made her a transformative figure in sales operations.


Mrs. Solofra Builds and empowers high-performance teams and creates strong cross-functional collaboration at all levels. She started her career in leadership in the aeroderivative, wind turbine, renewables MRO/OEM industries. Renee holds a distinguished career spanning over two decades in sales leadership.

Connor York
Vice President of Finance & Controller.

Connor P. York joined AP4 Group in June 2023 as Vice President of Finance & Controller.

 

Before joining AP4 Group, Mr. York served as a Vice President within the Financial Due Diligence practice at Houlihan Lokey, where he managed buy-side and sell-side engagements in the Industrials sector, ranging from $10 million to $2 billion in enterprise value.

 

Mr. York provided a diverse array of services, including quality of earnings, net working capital, and indebtedness analyses, along with operational performance evaluation. He started his career in public accounting at KPMG LLP, where he served in both the Asset Management Audit practice and the Transaction Advisory group. While in the audit practice, he specialized in the audits of public companies, distressed assets, and real estate.

 

Mr. York holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting with Business Honors and a Master of Science degree in Finance from Texas A&M. He is a certified public accountant in the state of Texas and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Connor P. York joined AP4 Group in June 2023 as Vice President of Finance & Controller.

Thomas Bonaventura joined AP4 Group in February 2023 as Director of Marketing.

Mr. Bonaventura has over 15 years of B2B and B2C marketing experience in various marketing leadership positions focusing on strategic marketing, brand strategy, strategic planning, and product development with large and start-up organizations within consumer products, medical devices, and healthcare industries. Mr. Bonaventura’s cross-functional expertise includes business management, sales and marketing, and organizational leadership.

Before joining AP4 Group, Mr. Bonaventura worked at Newtopia, Wellinks (formerly Convexity Scientific), and Z-Medica, where he specialized in driving growth through innovative marketing activities and campaigns. Mr. Bonaventura started his career in sales and business development within the consumer products industry, working for companies like Bristol-Myers Squibb, Diageo, and Energizer Personal Care.

Laura Tabone
Executive Vice President, AP+M.

Laura Tabone joined AP+M in 2006 in the Customer Service department.

Gary Hughes
Executive President, Hughes Technical Services.

Gary Hughes joined AP4 Group in July 2022 after the acquisition of Hughes Technical Services by AP4.

 

Before joining AP4, Hughes founded HTS in 2014. He has more than 25 years experience in the power industry, commissioning and maintaining gas turbines in the 50-200MW range and steam turbines in the
35 – 450MW range. Holding positions as Commissioning Engineer, Commissioning Manager, Plant Manager, and Project engineer for industry-leading companies such as ABB and Alstom.

 

Mr. Hughes holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) from the University of Ulster. He has been certified by ALSTOM/ABB as an Electrical Commissioning Specialist for various electrical devices such as SFC, AVR, and air-cooled generators.

Gary Hughes joined AP4 Group in July 2022 after the acquisition of Hughes Technical Services by AP4.

Prior to Joining AP4, Mr. Hughes founded HTS in 2014. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the power

Scott Richards
Executive Vice President, Maine Automation.

Scott D. Richards joined AP4 in May 2022 as Executive Vice President of Maine Automation.

 

With over 25 years of experience in electrical instrumentation, leadership, and project management, Mr. Richards has a proven track record of driving growth and innovation. His dedication to establishing strategic partnerships has helped guide his entrepreneurial journey.
Mr. Richards owned Maine Automation, a process controls electrical instrumentation company serving the United States power generation industry and manufacturing companies.

 

He served in the Merchant Marines as the Third Assistant Marine Engineer Unlimited Horsepower and for eight years in the United States Naval Reserve. Mr. Richards graduated from Calhoun Marine Engineering School as a Licensed Marine Engineer and holds a Trades and Technical Occupation and Marine Engineering degree from Southern Maine Community College.

Scott D. Richards joined AP4 in May 2022 as Executive Vice President of Maine Automation.

With over 25 years of experience in electrical instrumentation, leadership, and project management, Mr. Richards has a proven track record of driving growth and innovation. His dedication to establishing strategic partnerships has helped guide his entrepreneurial journey.

Mr. Richards was the Owner of Maine Automation, a process controls electrical instrumentation company serving the United States power generation industry and manufacturing companies. Mr. Richards served in the Merchant Marines as Third Assistant Marine Engineer Unlimited Horsepower. He also served eight years in the United States Naval Reserve.

Mr. Richards graduated from Calhoun Marine Engineering School as a Licensed Marine Engineer and holds a degree in Trades and Technical Occupation and Marine Engineering from Southern Maine Community College.

Daniel Winslow
Executive Vice President, Maine Automation.

Daniel T. Winslow joined AP4 in May 2022 as Executive Vice President of Maine Automation.

 

Mr. Winslow has over 25 years of experience in electrical instrumentation, leadership, and project management. He is a Fourth-Generation Pulp and Paper Worker who works in the Electrical and instrumentation Department. Mr. Winslow owned Maine Automation, a process controls electrical instrumentation company serving the United States Power Generation and Manufacturing Industries.

 

Mr. Winslow also served in the United States Air Force, Specializing in the F111D Environmental & Electrical Systems. She was explicitly assigned to the TFR division “ Terrain Following Radar.” Mr. Winslow was Honorably Discharged from the United States Air Force in 1991 and has an associate degree in Industrial Technology.

Mr. Winslow was the Owner of Maine Automation, a process controls electrical instrumentation company serving the United States Power Generation and Manufacturing Industries. Mr. Winslow also served in the United States Air Force Specializing on the F111D Environmental & Electrical Systems. Assigned specifically to the TFR division “ Terrain Following Radar ”..

Mr. Winslow was Honorably Discharged from the United States Air Force in 1991, and has an Associates Degree in Industrial Technology.

Peter Levesque
Vice President, AP4 Group.

Mr. Levesque has over 30 years of experience in various engineering and maintenance positions, management, operations, and business development roles in the energy and utility industries. Before joining AP4 Group, Mr. Levesque spent 11 years with NextEra/NextEra Energy Resources as part of the outage execution staff. He supported both companies in all outage and planning execution and was later promoted to Outage Manager, where he supervised budgetary financial and commercial duties while overseeing all outage activities. He started his career at Westinghouse as a field engineer inspecting, upgrading, and performing as a technical advisor.

 

Mr. Levesque is a proven leader focused on strong customer relationships, safety leadership awareness, and development. He is a Veteran of the United States Navy (Reserves). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Power Engineering from Maine Maritime Academy and a Master of Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.

Gordon Pettigrew
Vice President, Repair.

Gordon Pettigrew joined AP4 Group in November 2021 in a business development role for Western Canada and later transitioned to General Manager for GTC Control Solutions in November 2022.

 

Gordon has over 25 years of experience as a P&L leader for various aftermarket services businesses serving the oil and gas, power generation, and industrial sectors. This experience includes integrating international acquisitions, greenfield setup of $300M+ business programs, technology implementations, transformational change management, and extensive Long-Term Service Agreement implementation.

 

Previously, Mr. Pettigrew worked at Finning (Caterpillar) and StandardAero, where he specialized in leading a diverse team and directing campaigns. He started his career in Quality and Engineering Management, developing refurbishment plans and implementing LEAN manufacturing production systems. Mr. Pettigrew holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science (Hons) and a Master of Business Administration degree from Queen’s University.

Gordon Pettigrew joined AP4 Group in November 2021, in a business development role for Western Canada, and later transitioned to General Manager for GTC Control Solutions in Nov 2022.

James Azar joined AP4 Group in March 2023 as Chief Technology Officer.

 

Mr. Azar has 20 years of experience in technology, cybersecurity, and product development. From Startups to enterprises, Mr. Azar brings out-of-the-box thinking to solve complex challenges, with vast experience in Financial Services, FinTech, and OT Security.

 

Before Joining AP4 Group, Mr. Azar worked as CISO at GloriFi, Senior Manager of Cybersecurity and Technology at Avanade, and Founder and CEO/CTO of BHNV Ventures and CyberHub USA, leading multiple product development teams from conception to sale. Mr. Azar attended the University of Colorado in Boulder and Devry University and is an ISC2 Member, Host of the CyberHub Podcast, and named in the 40 under 40 list by Top Cyber News.

Samuel Leyton
General Manager, AP+M.

In 2023, Mr. Leyton was appointed General Manager of AP+M, overseeing the continued success and growth of the organization’s parts distribution arm.


Prior to his General Manager appointment in 2023, Samuel D. Leyton joined GTC Control Solutions in August 2008 in a Sales and Marketing role. In 2010, he was appointed Services Manager to lead the newly established Services Division. In conjunction with his service manager responsibilities, Mr. Leyton was named Senior Business Development Leader in 2018.


Focusing on the Southeast USA, Mr.
Leyton grew sales in his assigned region by more than 50% and increased Services revenues by 10x. Before joining the AP4 Group, Mr. Leyton was a Senior Account Manager for a large ground transportation and logistics company in London, England. Mr. Leyton holds A-levels in Business Studies, Accounts, and Information Communication Technology from Colchester Sixth Form College.
